TRADITIONAL JAZZ

Blue Mountain Jazz Band

Five musicians and close friends, united by a shared passion for New Orleans jazz, form this ensemble inspired by the spirit of Jimmie Noone and driven by a rich repertoire of beautiful and often lesser-known themes. Their musical identity stands out through original and varied arrangements, enhanced by a touch of humour and a contagious energy that instantly captivates audiences. While the Vaud Riviera represents their artistic home, it is the Monts d’Arvel, turning blue at dawn and dusk, that fuel their imagination and creativity. Regularly invited to perform at public celebrations, weddings, anniversaries and cultural events, the band brings a warm, festive and authentic atmosphere wherever they play, staying true to the spirit of traditional jazz.

Since its formation in 2023, the Manon Mullener 5tet has established itself as one of the most compelling acts on the young European jazz scene. Led by Swiss pianist Manon Mullener, the group has developed a distinctive musical universe blending modern jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms and musical storytelling, driven by an infectious energy and a refined sense of interpretation. With their album STORIES, recorded in New York, the quintet brings to life human stories gathered from around the world: Zoila, a Havana grandmother recalling her 1950s perfume shop, Noh, a Mexican taxi driver imbued with Mayan wisdom, or Willard, an opera enthusiast roaming the hushed streets of Manhattan. Each composition becomes a living scene, an emotional snapshot and a bridge between cultures. Since the album’s release, the band has performed more than one hundred concerts across Europe, reaching growing audiences and increasing recognition, while also being selected for an official showcase at Jazzahead! in Bremen and praised by leading media such as France Musique, TSF Jazz, NDR, Le Temps and L’Illustré, who have hailed Manon Mullener as a rising star of European jazz.
