Biography
Internationally renowned Swiss Boogie Woogie & Blues pianist Silvan Zingg from Lugano started improvising on his mother's piano when he was little. His repertoire satisfies all tastes: from lively Boogie Woogie and sensitive Blues to classic Jazz and Swing – all played with lightness, improvisation, much passion, and spirit enhanced by great musicality. This is what characterizes the pianistic style of the "Boogie Woogie Ambassador of Switzerland", as the international press nicknames him.
At the age of 18, Silvan Zingg was invited as the only European to play at the closing evening dedicated to the "Master of Boogie Woogie Piano" at the Charleston Blues Festival, in South Carolina. Today, he is one of the most famous Boogie Woogie pianists in Europe.
During his 25-year musical career, he has had the pleasure of performing in more than 40 countries in Europe, South, North, and Central America, Asia, and Africa.
“Silvan plays as if he were from Saint Louis – he could be my Blues brother!” declared rock’n’roll legend Chuck Berry speaking enthusiastically about his pianist during a joint concert in Switzerland. Guitar blues star B.B. King was full of praise for his pianist during the concert given in the Stravinski Hall of the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2011. He associates the latter with a very special event: Zingg was the only European invited to play at B.B. King's funeral in Indianola, Mississippi (USA) in 2015. A day that will mark him forever.
