Biography
Born in 1981, Sébastien Giniaux began playing the cello at age 6 at the Bourg-la-Reine conservatory with Etienne Cardoze, then continued his apprenticeship at the C.N.R of Boulogne and Aubervilliers-la Courneuve.
He encountered the guitar and traditional music at 18, and learned the instrument as an autodidact, with the music of Django Reinhardt as a primary influence, soon to be joined by Balkan music, classical music, jazz and improvised music, and many others.
He also works with different formations as a composer, arranger, and musician, notably for Norig, Selmer #607, the Balkan Project, Téofilo Chantre, etc.
The work as a painter he has pursued since childhood leads him to apprehend different artistic mediums as so many languages.
