Biography

Singer, dancer, actress, and true show woman, Nicolle Rochelle is a multi-faceted artist who has captivated audiences around the world from a very young age. Originally from the United States, she began her career on television alongside Ringo Starr in the series Shining Time Station, before chaining roles in numerous American productions such as The Cosby Show, NYPD Blue, Law & Order: SVU or Third Watch. She also shines on stage in musicals on Broadway, plays alongside legends like James Earl Jones or Alan Alda, and in numerous films.

In 2006, Nicolle moved to France to embody Josephine Baker in the musical Looking For Josephine, imagined by the famous director Jérôme Savary. This role led her on the roads of a four-year international tour, interpreted in three languages and performed in more than ten countries.

Since then, Nicolle Rochelle has developed her musical career mainly in Europe. She collaborates with numerous prestigious formations such as Ginkgoa, Laurent Mignard’s Duke Orchestra, The Barcelona Jazz Orchestra, or The Yerba Buena Creole Rice Jazz Band, with which she embodies Billie Holiday in theatrical concerts acclaimed by the public.

In 2024 and 2025, Nicolle Rochelle offered the Rive Jazzy public exceptional concerts alongside the group Swiss TriBe, an elegant fusion of jazz, soul, and groove. Her stage charisma, her deep and expressive voice, and her communicative energy marked spirits and left a memorable memory for the festival spectators.

An accomplished dancer, Nicolle masters roots jazz as well as hip-hop, lindy hop, contemporary, or Afro-Latin dances. She occasionally teaches singing, theater, and authentic jazz dance, and shares her experience through workshops around the world, invited notably by American, French, and Saudi embassies.

With her project "Modern GEAIsha", she pushes artistic boundaries and blends singing, rap, dance, and painting around committed themes such as humanism, feminism, and self-expression.
